We had a great time this weekend biking on the Virginia Creeper Trail with Jimmy, Tina, Korinne & Luke. It was our first trip but one that we hope to repeat. The 17 mile section that we rode was beautiful. The trail is an old railroad bed that winds down from Whitetop Mountain through a national forest alongside a river. The trail also passes through some private property with Christmas trees, hayfields and some neat old barns. One other highlight from the trip was hiking in Grayson Highlands State Park. The rhododendron were in full bloom and the views were great! We also got to see a couple of groups of wild ponies.
Welcome to our blog & thanks for checking in on us!
Parker Pals was the team name we used in the annual Cystic Fibrosis walk. Our daughter, Kyla, died due to complications from CF at 8 years old, before a cure could be found. We have shared a portion of that experience on Caringbridge (www.caringbridge.org/visit/kylaparker)
We started this blog so that we could continue to share our experiences of learning to live despite our grief. We hope that our journey will be an encouragement to those that may go through difficult times.
"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me." Psalm 23:4
